The new school web site is aimed mainly at the children and staff at the school and at parents and carers. It will also be of interest to the wider community, including prospective parents and other interested parties, so will reflect all the brilliant things going on at Ravenstone. It will hopefully be much more user-friendly than the old site and will be bang up to date with the goings on at school.

What's in it?
School Guide - this is a sort of online prospectus and contains the official information about the school

School News - this has announcements and news from the headmaster and the school, the PTA and the governors.

School Life will contain stories and articles written by the children themselves, and their teachers, about life at school. It will focus on special activities, trips and interesting projects that they want to share with parents and the rest of the world.

Everyone’s an author
The great thing about the site is that anyone can contribute to it. The children and teachers will be adding information during their classes, and parents/carers can email stuff to the editors for inclusion. The parents involved in setting up the site will be gradually working their way through the classes, showing teachers and children how to add their stories and photos.

Security
Safety on the Internet is important. In order to protect the children we have a strict policy that only first names, with an initial if necessary, will be used on the site. Photos and children's work will automatically be put on the site unless parents specifically let their teacher know that they do not wish for their child's photos to be used.
