Details about our Nursery

The Nursery at Ravenstone is an integral part of the school. It is situated on the ground floor within the school building so children have easy access to a large outdoor space. Our garden is safe and secure and the Nursery children have sole use of the area.

Both the indoor and outdoor areas are considered of equal importance in providing the children with a range of opportunities that are relevant and engage them in learning. The children are encouraged to be independent and become confident sharing their ideas and experiences with others.

Our approach to teaching is child-centred where every child is an individual, with their own special skills and talents to be valued. It is important that every child has a happy and positive first experience of school and one where they feel safe and confident to express themselves and take the next steps in their learning and development.

We know that early intervention is vital and because of this we hope that any child in our nursery will transfer into our reception and experience a full education at Ravenstone from the age of 3 to 11 as this will provide them with the best possible start in life.
