At Ravenstone we try to ensure that all transitions are managed sensitively but recognise that the transition from Primary to Secondary can be stressful for children and parents. Our Year 6 teachers are experienced in managing the process and work throughout the year to fulfil our mission statement by 'providing the children of Ravenstone with an education that will equip them for the future.'
We advise any Year 6 parents wishing to apply for independent schools for Year 7 entrance to check the closing date for applications as they may be much earlier than the state schools.
SECONDARY TRANSFER PROCESS FOR YEAR 6 2016-17
PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF DATE FOR THE SECONDARY TRANSFER TEST
We have received a directive from Pupils' Services
'The School Admissions Code requires that schools using a selective test to determine the offer of a Year 7 place must provide the scores to parents in time for them to decide ahead of the closing date whether an application to the school is likely to be successful.
Having obtained legal advice, it has been decided that the Wandsworth Year 6 Test must, therefore, be held earlier in the school year so that parents can be provided with their child’s scores in time to make an informed decision about their preferences by 31 October 2016.'
THIS YEAR THE PROCESS IS AS FOLLOWS
There was a secondary transfer meeting for present Year 5 on June 8th at 6.00 pm.
