PTA Who's who

Parents are automatically a member of the PTA and your support and involvement is welcome, actively encouraged and essential! There are a number of people who hold elected positions and fulfil specific responsibilities, namely a five-strong Committee supported by a network of 25 Class Reps and half a dozen specialists. All of these people are volunteers and are elected at the PTA AGM when vacancies arise.

The PTA Committee
The PTA committee has responsibility for the overall running and management of the PTA.

PTA Co-Chair – Annie Taylor

PTA Co-Chair - Jane Briginshaw

Being Chair of the PTA is a fabulously rewarding job as it fulfils a vital role in the school. It raises funds that provide a wide range of basic and extra facilities to help enrich your child’s experience while at Ravenstone.

Tapping into the enormous pool of talent that forms the community of parents is the nub of the job. Carpenters, cake makers, furniture removers, dressmakers, gardeners, brilliant organisers and those conversant with Excel spreadsheets are some of the disparate skills we call on during a typical year. You couldn’t make up a PTA job description if you tried!

It means that everyone can play their part and we appreciate anything you can do, however small.

Please take the time to read about what we do. We’re always keen to hear new ideas and better ways of doing things. Come along to one of our meetings when you can; we run these at different times of day to make it more convenient. We look forward to meeting you sometime soon.

Class Representatives
The role of the class representative is wide-ranging but the core activity is to: attend PTA meetings, communicate information to parents in their class, recruit volunteers for events, (which may mean helping run an event), maintain a class contacts list and to have fun with your fellow parents! Many Class Reps run informal social events each term.
